Regenerative Farming

Farming that Restores the Land

HealthyEarth BioCare fertilisers are built for Australian farmers who believe that healthy soil is the foundation of everything. Our regenerative approach feeds your crops while rebuilding the biology beneath them.

Our Philosophy

A Regenerative Approach to Australian Farming

Modern Australian farming faces pressure from all sides — rising input costs, degraded soils, unpredictable rainfall and tightening margins. At HealthyEarth, we believe the answer is not more of the same. Our range of liquid and granular fertilisers is designed around regenerative principles: feeding the soil food web, improving water retention, building organic matter, and reducing dependency on synthetic inputs over time.

Every product in our farming range contains biostimulants — seaweed, humic acid, fish-derived amino acids and trace elements — that work alongside the primary NPK nutrition to activate soil biology. The result is nutrition that works harder, lasts longer, and leaves the land in better shape than it found it.

Key Principles

How Regenerative Nutrition Works

Soil Biology First

Up to 30% better nutrient uptake

Healthy crops grow from healthy soil. Our fertilisers are formulated to stimulate microbial activity, improve cation exchange capacity and support mycorrhizal networks that make nutrients available to plant roots more efficiently. When soil biology is thriving, you need less product to get the same result — and your land banks carbon rather than releasing it.

Regenerative Nutrition

Full-spectrum nutrition + biostimulants

Regenerative farming is not about removing fertiliser — it is about choosing fertilisers that work with nature rather than against it. Our 44-Plus, CalMag 51 and Trace Element range provide the full spectrum of nutrition crops need while simultaneously feeding the organisms that build long-term soil health. Many of our customers reduce their total fertiliser spend within two seasons as their soil biology comes back to life.

Water Use Efficiency

Improved crop resilience in dry conditions

Silicon is the most undervalued nutrient in Australian farming. Our SilicaMax and UltraSilica Wettable products deposit plant-available silica into cell walls, reducing transpiration and helping crops cope with heat and dry spells. Combined with our humic acid products — which improve soil water-holding capacity — growers consistently report that their crops weather dry periods with far less stress.

Trace Element Replenishment

Corrects hidden deficiencies fast

Australia's ancient, heavily weathered soils are chronically deficient in key trace elements — zinc, manganese, boron, copper, iron and molybdenum. These deficiencies silently cap yield and quality even when NPK levels are adequate. Our Regenerative Trace Element Fertiliser and EasyTrace foliar blend restore what decades of cropping have removed, unlocking the full potential of your NPK investment.

Drought Resilience

Drought Protection — Building Resilience from the Ground Up

Water is the defining constraint of Australian agriculture. Rather than managing drought as an emergency, we help farmers build genuine soil-level resilience so their crops are better equipped before the dry sets in. Our drought protection approach works on three fronts: improving soil water retention, reducing plant transpiration loss, and strengthening root systems to access deeper moisture.

Drought resilience is not something you build in response to a forecast. It is built season by season through consistent attention to soil biology, organic matter and trace mineral status. Start with a soil test, talk to Ella, and build a program that puts your land in the best possible position before the next dry.

Practical Strategies

1

Apply SilicaMax or UltraSilica Wettable during early vegetative growth to build cell wall strength before heat stress arrives

2

Use Humic Carbon Liquid to improve soil aggregation and water-holding capacity — a 1% increase in organic matter holds an additional 170,000 litres of water per hectare

3

Penetrator soil wetter eliminates water-repellent soil layers, allowing rainfall and irrigation to reach the full root zone instead of running off

4

CalMag 51 supports calcium-driven cell membrane function that regulates water uptake under stress conditions

5

Foliar application of KickStart NPK during drought stress delivers nutrition directly to leaves, bypassing compromised root uptake

6

Apply Regenerative Trace Elements before flowering — deficiencies in zinc and boron become acute during heat events and significantly reduce set

Common Questions

Farming Q&A

Answers to the questions we get most from Australian broadacre and horticulture growers.

Synthetic fertilisers deliver nutrients directly to the plant but bypass the soil food web, often leading to compaction, salinity build-up, and reduced microbial diversity over time. BioCare biological fertilisers feed the soil ecosystem — stimulating beneficial bacteria and fungi that unlock locked nutrients, improve water retention, and build long-term soil carbon. The result is healthier crops with lower input costs each season.

SilicaMax delivers 51% plant-available SiO₂, which deposits in cell walls and leaf cuticles to reduce transpiration loss by up to 30%. Silicon-strengthened plants maintain turgor pressure longer under heat stress, suffer less oxidative damage, and recover faster after dry spells. It also improves root architecture, helping plants access deeper soil moisture.

Yes. BioCare products are designed as complementary inputs, not replacements. Most growers start by pairing our biologicals with their existing urea or MAP program at reduced synthetic rates, then gradually transition as soil biology recovers. We recommend starting with SilicaMax or 44-Plus as easy additions to any existing regime.

Visible plant responses — greener canopy, faster tiller development, stronger root mass — typically appear within 3–6 weeks of the first application. Measurable soil biology improvements (PLFA counts, aggregate stability) are usually evident by the second season. Broadacre growers often report meaningful yield lifts from year one, with compounding gains over a 3-year program.

All BioCare farming products are formulated with food-grade inputs and carry no withholding periods for grazing stock. They are non-toxic to aquatic life at label rates. Unlike conventional fertilisers, they do not contribute to algal bloom risk because nutrients are bound to soil biology rather than sitting in soluble form available for runoff.

Soil biologicals perform best when soil temperature is above 10°C and moisture is adequate — typically autumn (after break-of-season rain) and spring. Avoid applying to hot, dry, cracking soil as microbial activity will be suppressed. For winter crops, a pre-sowing in-furrow application of 44-Plus combined with a late-tillering SilicaMax foliar spray gives the best response.

No specialised equipment is required. All BioCare farming liquids are compatible with standard boomspray, centre-pivot fertigation, and in-furrow drip systems. They can also be mixed with most broadleaf herbicides and fungicides in a jar test before tank-mixing. Always check compatibility and apply at label rates.

Application rates vary by crop type, soil carbon baseline, and target yield. As a starting point, most broadacre growers apply SilicaMax at 2–4 L/ha at tillering and again at flag leaf, and 44-Plus at 3–5 L/ha at sowing.
